The main function of diesel engine oxidation catalyst (DOC) is to convert carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) in diesel engine exhaust gas and soluble organic components (SOF) in particulate emissions (PM) and oxygen into water and carbon dioxide under the catalytic action of precious metals. Diesel engine oxidation catalytic converter (DOC) strong oxidation can also part of nitric oxide (NO) oxidation into nitrogen dioxide (NO₂).
